Re-modelling Jewellery
We believe passionately that jewellery should be worn. If you have jewellery that you now never seem to wear, you may like to consider re-designing it. Much like our In-house bespoke design service we offer a remodelling service.
We will advise you on the practicalities and costs of adapting your current jewel by changing small details or re-working your stones into a completely new design that suits and enhances your present taste and lifestyle. Sometimes it is more sensible to sell your existing jewel and re-invest the proceeds in a new piece.

Pearl Stringing
At Nigel Milne we offer the highest quality pearl stringing service. Whether it is your favourite single row of pearls or an elaborate multi row choker necklace with diamond centrepiece and spacer bars, your jewel will be carefully cleaned and restored to its former glory.
If you have rows of pearls that you never wear, you may like to consider having them re-strung in a completely different style to give them a new and contemporary lease of life. Let us suggest some ideas and designs to you.
Insurance Valuations
As we have seen particularly in the last two years, the value of precious metals and gems can increase dramatically. Jewellery is also prone to the vagaries of fashion. Therefore we recommend valuing your jewellery collection every three to four years.
We value jewellery for replacement, probate and division purposes. Our basic valuation rate is .25% of the total value plus VAT, or a minimum charge of £30.00 plus VAT. However we are very happy to quote to carry out valuations on a project-by-project basis, whether you require a valuation for two or three very high value items or you have a large number of lesser value items.
Engraving Service
We are happy to engrave any item of jewellery and have a wide range of engraving styles available for your selection. If you would like any advice or suggestions we will be happy to provide brilliant ideas and solutions.
As well as engraving we are able to provide the artwork for lost or missing crests and Coats of Arms. Alternatively we can copy an image from wax impressions or other engraved items.
Buying from the Public
At Nigel Milne we will carefully assess the value of your jewellery so that we may give you our best possible offer or advice for its disposal. This process can normally be undertaken within 24 hours. There is no charge for this assessment.
We are particularly keen to buy vintage jewellery signed by the famous houses of Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Boucheron, etc.
We are also happy to sell your jewellery on your behalf on a commission basis. Acceptance of your jewellery to sell is strictly at the company’s discretion.
